Marblehead Pottery floral HT decorated vase Arts & Crafts matte gray blue

Description

Here is a very nice Marblehead Pottery HT decorated canted form vase with an incised floral design of blue flowers and stems against a matte speckled gray ground. The interior is a glossy clear showing the brick red clay color.  The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915.   It measures 3 3/8 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest.  It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, just a small in the making stilt pull at the foot which doesn't really show from the side.  Marked with the firm's die-stamped MP and ship mark, their small oval paper label, and an incised HT for the designer Hennessey and the decorator Sarah Tutt.  A fine piece of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
