Description
Here is a very nice Marblehead Pottery HT decorated canted form vase with an incised floral design of blue flowers and stems against a matte speckled gray ground. The interior is a glossy clear showing the brick red clay color. The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915. It measures 3 3/8 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, just a small in the making stilt pull at the foot which doesn't really show from the side. Marked with the firm's die-stamped MP and ship mark, their small oval paper label, and an incised HT for the designer Hennessey and the decorator Sarah Tutt. A fine piece of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.
