Antique folding painted silk hand fan with MOP mother of pearl

Beautiful antique folding hand fan.
I know nothing about old fans but will attempt to describe.
I believe the fabric is silk.  It appears to be hand painted.  Each fold has mother of pearl on each fold surrounded by beautiful gold painted design.
Each end of the fan is mother of pearl.
There are a couple of tiny holes that I can see only when I hold it to the light.  The light also shows me about a 1" split in one of the folds just above the gold painting above the mother of pearl.
12" wide
6 1/2" tall when folded.
