Antique Asian lacquer 7 portion covered server almost 12 inches across x 3 high

Measuring a shade under 12 inches across and 3 inches high this covered server has 6 compartments plus one round center one. I believe each comes out but I am not going to force them as they may have been in place for many year s. We believe this lacquered piece is over wood as there is some chipping on an edge. Gold design on the top, black inside the lid and reddish slightly orange overall. Estate piece. It would look beautiful on its own or even to hold your jewelry.
